Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I join the Association?
A: Membership of the Association is open to all Officers, Warrant
Officers, NCOs and other ranks of the Regular Army and Reserves who
are currently serving or who have served in an Irish Regiment of the
British Army. You can also join as an Associate Member even if you
have not served with an Irish Regiment but have some form of other
connection. Also if you are a member of a Regimental Association
listed on the About page
Q: Is there a membership fee?
A: Yes, the current membership fee is ten pounds sterling.
Q: Does the Association organise tribute
visits overseas?
A: No, but some of the Regimental Associations do. See what trips
are available on the
News page
Q: Can the Association provide advice for film productions ?
A: Indirectly Yes, our current membership includes specialists in this field.
Q: My ancestor served in an Irish Regiment of the British Army, can the Association help me find information ?
A: No, but some of the Regimental Associations may be able to. A good starting point is to use an Internet Search Engine to locate the regimental association, but be aware that not all of the Irish Regiments have Regimental Associations. Tracing soldiers is a skilled task and the paucity of historical regimental documents often results in a minimal amount of information
Q: How do I contact the Association?
A: Please use our dedicated
contacts page and you can send a message directly to the
Association Secretary
