Brigadier APMJ Naughten MBE ADC MA

Brigadier Adrian Naughten joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1964 and was successively Platoon Commander Recce Platoon and Signals Officer. He served with the Faughs in Aden from 1966 to 1971 and was ADC to General Sir Walter Walker CINC AFNORTH from 1968 to 1970.

 

Brigadier Naughten's subsequent appointments were:

- Adjutant for the Royal Irish Rangers from 1971 to 1974.

- Attended Staff College during 1974/1975.

- Defence Attache in Singapore from 1976 to 1978.

- Company Commander in 2 Royal Irish and then 2.i.c. from 1978 to 1981.

- Attended National Defence College in 1981.

- CO of 2 Royal Irish from 1982 to 1984.

- DS at Camberley in 1985/1986.

- Commander, Joint Warfare Team at the Nigerian Staff College from 1987 to 1988.

- DACOS Ops (UK) at UKLF from 1989 to 1991.

- Commander 107 (Ulster) Brigade from 1991 to 1993.

- Head of BDLS Canada from 1993 to 1996.

- Commander of the British Miitary Training Team, Southern Africa from 1997 to 1999.

- Deputy Colonel of the Royal Irish Regiment from 1992 to 1999.

 

Brigadier Naughten retired from the Army in 1999 after 35 years of service.
